#2006628 Wood-Fired Co-Generation Facility

TEG provided process systems engineering and design for the development of a biomass CHP facility for a Michigan university. The project planned to provide high temperature hot water (HTHW) and electrical energy for use on the University campus to displace natural gas and electrical power purchased from the local utilities. Thermal capacity was designed to exceed 70,000 MBTUH and the electrical generation would exceed 7.5 MWe. A new thermal energy distribution system will convey HTHW to the adjacent campus thermal distribution system.

Value of Construction - $5,000,000

#2006630 Wood-Fired Co-Generation Facility

TEG has been selected as the lead design engineer and project administrator for the development of a wood-fired co-generation facility in northern Ontario, Canada. The facility consists of a wood-fired gasifier-boiler capable of producing 52,000 pph of steam at 450 psig D&S, one 4 MWe condensing extraction steam turbine and corresponding steam distribution systems, along with all necessary ancillaries. The boiler and generation equipment will be relocated from Ohio to the northern Ontario location. The facility will be interconnected with a lumber production facility.

#2006628 Wood-Fired Co-Generation Facility

TEG has been selected as the lead design engineer and project administrator for the development of a wood-fired co-generation facility in Ontario, Canada. The facility consists of a wood-fired circulating fluidized-bed boiler capable of producing 187,393 pph of steam at 1,421 psia and 1,005°F, one 10 MWe condensing extraction steam turbine (TG1), one 5 MWe back-pressure steam turbine (TG2), a 150 mmBTU/hr steam re-boiler, 80 mmBTU/hr steam to hot water heat exchanger and corresponding distribution systems, a carbon-dioxide capture and recovery system and a flue gas capture and recovery system along with all necessary ancillaries.

Value of Construction - $45,000,000

#2006854 Gasification and Co-Generation Facility for Steel Plant

TEG is providing engineering services for the design, engineering and construction services for the gasification of coal, tires and biomass at an Ohio steel plant. The project will provide high BTU gas for use in the steel plant's reheat furnace to displace natural gas usage and will include recover waste heat from multiple sources. The project will utilize a circulating fluid bed gasifier to produce 350 mmBTU/hr of gas for the reheat furnace. Heat recovery boilers and three 10 MWe steam turbines will be included for heat recovery and steam generation. A steam distribution system will be included to pipe excess steam to an adjacent district energy system.

Value of Construction - $50,000,000

#2006855 Wood Waste Gasification and Catalytic Generation of Ethanol

TEG partnered with a controls system integrator to develop the process systems for a proposed wood waste to ethanol facility in California. Our scope included evaluating equipment and systems, developing the control strategy, producing the process diagrams and equipment list for the three-train 750 TPD facility designed to produce 75,000,000 gallons of ethanol.

#2007868 08/07 Cyclone Gasification Conversion of 125 MWe Power Boiler

TEG provided engineering services to prepare design development documents and technical support related to the coal gasification process proposed to be installed on one of the power boilers at a South Carolina electric generating plant. Our scope of services included site services to review existing conditions, meet with customer's engineers and assess feasability and potential locations for the proposed cyclone gasifiers, prepare design development documents including process schematic(s) for fuel, flue gasses, combustion air, FGR, ash and ancillary systems, develop plan and elevation view of proposed equipment configurations, develop equipment list including electrical requirements and develop heat balance calculations sufficient to define equipment, piping and ductwork sizing and requirements.
